Sheffield Neighbors makes up the central portion of the Lincoln Park neighborhood just west of Halsted St. The area is a mix of university life, shopping and residential living. It is perhaps best known for serving as the campus to DePaul University. 

Beyond offering a lively dining and entertainment scene, and two major retail districts within its boundaries,  one of the community’s characteristic features is its historic landmark areas. The homes and buildings that line The McCormick Row House District, Armitage-Halsted district, the Fremont Row House district, and the Bissell Street Row House district date back to the 1800s and are often a draw for homebuyers looking to buy a home in a neighborhood with history, charm and traditional aesthetics.

As part of the Lincoln Park neighborhood, the Sheffield Neighbors community is bordered by Armitage Ave to the south, Fullerton Ave to the north, Halsted St to the east and the Chicago River to the west.

The area is serviced by three Chicago Transit Authority (CTA) train lines -- red, brown and purple -- with the two main stations being Armitage Ave and Fullerton Ave. Major bus routes through the area include the #73 Armitage,  #74 Fullerton, and #8 Halsted.

The 90/94 interstate, commonly referred to as the Kennedy Expressway, is just to the west of the neighborhood, across the river, and Chicago’s scenic Lake Shore Drive is a short distance to the east.

The community area offers a multitude of shopping options many of which can be found along Webster Ave, Armitage Ave and Halsted St. The shops range from small clothing boutiques, cosmetic stores, shoe stores and the occasional big retailer. The area is also in close proximity to two major grocery stores, Mariano’s (1500 N Clybourn Ave) and Whole Foods (1550 N Kingsbury St and 959 W Fullerton Ave). Other grocery options include Trader Joe’s (1840 N Clybourn Ave) and Aldi (1836 N Clybourn Ave) which are a short distance from Sheffield Neighbors in Lincoln Park. 

The community park is Trebes Park (2250 N Clifton), where families gather for summer baseball games, movies in the park, or a visit to the playground. 

The primary elementary school servicing the neighborhood is Oscar F Mayer Magnet School (2250 N Clifton), adjacent to Trebes Park.
