Top 5 Lincoln Park Real Estate Neighborhood News Stories - October 2019
/1) New Lincoln Park Neighborhood Eats for the Fall
Ella’s BBQ Lincoln Park
The husband-and-wife duo behind Lokal and Earl’s Drive Thru BBQ is opening a new BBQ restaurant in Lincoln Park called Ella’s BBQ, with an emphasis on cherry-smoked meats. The restaurant, located at 723 W Armitage Ave, is slated to open November 1, 2019 serving brunch, lunch and dinner. While the menu will have a slant to smoked meats - think brisket, ribs, pork - the menu also has vegetarian options. And, just like at Earl’s, there will be fresh-to-order cake doughnuts to satisfy those sweet cravings.
Earlier this month, Centre Street Kitchen, located at 1224 W. Webster Avenue, opened its doors. This new Lincoln Park restaurant aims to be a place that fosters eating well and doing good. The concept involves a dining experience that encourages guests to share positivity and gratitude from the moment they walk in the door and throughout their time in the restaurant. A central focal point and design element that reinforces its ethos is a dedicated wall with names and tributes to friends and family who survived, are fighting or lost the battle with cancer. Tributes can be added to the wall with a $100 donation and contribute fully to the pediatric cancer foundation, Never Had A Bad Day Foundation, a non-profit cofounded by restaurant owner Erik Baylis.
2) Copenhagen Design Comes to Lincoln Park
There’s a new home goods store in the neighborhood hailing from Copenhagen. Hay, one of Danish capital’s highly-lauded contemporary design and home goods brands, opened a 3,500-square-foot showroom at 755 W North Ave in Lincoln Park. This is the brand’s first showroom in Chicago and the Midwest. If you’re preparing to furnish your new home purchase in Lincoln Park or if your condo is due for a contemporary refresh, this may be the place to shop for some new home furnishings.

IT Halloween Party Lincoln Park
That time of year for costumes and candy and “trick-or-treat” greetings is quickly approaching. If you’re new to the Lincoln Park neighborhood, here are some fun ways to join in on the festivities with your family or a night out with friends.
The afternoon of Sunday, October 27, from 1pm to 4pm, businesses along Clark Street from Diversey Pkwy to Armitage Ave will be adorned in Halloween decor to welcome trick-or-treaters for the 11th annual Spooktacular event. There will be performers activations along the way, plus a costume contest held at Team Rehabilitation Physical Therapy, 2727 N. Clark.
“IT” movie fans will be thrilled with the new pop-up bar theme at Replay in Lincoln Park, 2833 N Sheffield Ave, inspired by the movie and its hauntingly, eerie clown Pennywise. The pop-up began October 11 and will run through November 1.
4) More Bike Lanes Could Come to Lincoln Park Soon with Dickens Avenue Greenway Approval
A proposed greenway and bike path along Dickens Ave in Lincoln Park could begin construction in 2020 should approvals go through this fall. The new path is intended to develop a “contra-flow” bike lane along the westbound one-way street so as to alleviate bike traffic between Clybourn Ave and Lincoln Park Zoo and create a safer cycling option for families. The proposal has received mixed reviews but has a strong support basis so far.

5) A Dose of Tranquility Arrives at Lincoln Commons
Kohler Water Spa Lincoln Park
Kohler Co., the century-old Wisconsin-based company, known for its kitchen and bath products as well as its spa destinations, opened its first Chicago spa on October 11. The spa is located at 2358 N. Lincoln Ave in the new Lincoln Commons development. The 20,000-square-foot spa offers restorative treatments and services all centered on water, or hydrotherapy. The space has 21 treatment rooms across two floors with a menu of services that includes new treatments for the brand tailored to city living - because we all know that Chicago winters aren’t always pleasant or nice to the skin.
